I've had a bunch of ideas for stuff to include with the car. Each item here I intend tro add to the car and sort into a stage, any item with a star indicates its a dream and will most likely never happen, any item with two stars is something that isn't yet final, but I'm looking into the possibility of using it. Referances to Stage 4+ indicates that its something farther down the road then I can truly plan for, but these things will one day get done.
- Body
- There will be no modifications to the body. The idea here is to look stock, its going to be a sleeper. The only thing I'm thinking is a wheel change (White Compomotive MOR 17x8s), mostly so I can use wider tires and bigger brakes.
- Engine:
- Looking for 450hp (of course we all know that enough is never enough)
- Stage 1 and 2 will include the engine compartment dress up. Going for a red and white Audi Sport theme. Ex. Valve cover red, with the raised Audi rings painted white.
- For now I plan on keeping the stock displacement, unless I find that I can't get the desired power without going bigger.
- Either Carillo or Pauter conrods, Stage 4+
- Better pistons, no descision on source yet (suggestions welcome), Stage 4+
- Stock crank, **Possibly going to the machine shop for knife edging and ballancing.
- Stock 10v head. For Stage 3 I'm going to do a minor port job with our limited tools at the shop, For Stage 4+ I'm going to have it professionally ported and polished. **If I win the lotto I'll probbly do a 20v swap
- Stock intake manifold for now, maybe build one later.
- Going to need a cam, no plans yet on what grind (suggestions welcome).
- Transmission/Driveline:
- Stage 4+ short shift setup
- No other driveline mods planned yet, but we will see how well everything holds up to the stress.
- Turbo (including everything from the exaust ports to the throttle body):
- Stage 3 is going to be based arround the making of a custom header, the stock unit is just plain terrible (bad flow and incredibly heavy)
- KKK K27/K26 hybrid turbo, **Stage 3 T4/T3 hybrid w/ ball bearing
- Stock intercooler for now, strapped to keep the end caps on there nice and tight, Stage 4 going to use a Porsche 944 unit (This could be done as early as Stage 3, I have the IC sitting here, just gota get arround to putting it on and making hoses)
- IC spray. I've got a custom designed intercooler spray system designed, going to be able to be controlled by a temp switch, full throttle swith, and/or manual push button. Will have an arming togle switch so I don't waste too much water when I'm not trying to go fast. Stage 4.
- Water injection. Its a must for high boost, and its definately going to be included. Going to be 70/30 mix of alchohol/water.Controlled by pressure switch. Stage 4.
- Silicon hose to repace the factory rubber bits, Stage 4+.
- Blow-off valve
- Suspension:
- 2Bennet fully adjustable suspension setup, Stage 4+
- Electronics:
- MegaSquirt EFI controller, Stage 2
- IC spray control, Stage 4
- Water injection control, Stage 4
- Custom built computer system. In cockpit tuning, mp3 audio system, dvd video player, games for passenger use on road trips (I do alot of long road trips to races acting as a chase car for our tractor trailer rig, so I can't even use the power of car to get there quicker), Stage 2
- Interior:
- Carbon fiber to replace the badly worn leather on the door panels (I've got the stuff just laying arround so its actually CHEAPER to go carbon fiber then to repair the leather), Stage 2
- Hidden switches behind the cover for the interior relay board. Switches will be for water injection arming, IC spray arming, and a couple other *top secret ;-)* switches. Stage 2 and 4
- Water tanks in trunk for water injection and IC sparyers. Stage 4
- Computer system in trunk, Stage 2
- 7 inch LCD screen on roof mount, Stage 2
- Autometer boost gauge in bar, and air/fuel gauge, Stage 3
- Fuel Injection:
- MegaSquirt fuel injection computer, Stage 2
- Custom fuel rail, Stage 2
- stock fuel pump
- Ignition:
- Stock ignition for now, looking at better options (Tomtek and MegaJolt)
- Computer System:
- Custom built case integrated into rear trunk, Stage 2
- Everything extensivly rubber mounted for shock protection in the worst of conditions
- 7inch LCD screen on roof mount, Stage 2
- Wiresless keyboard and wireless optical mouse, Stage 2
- Will be the center of the Mp3 audio system, Stage 2
- Will be capable of DVD movie playback, Stage 2
- Will datalog all availible parameters for review in case something goes wrong
- Will provide tuning ability on the road, and will provide different fuel maps for plain driving, sport driving, fuel economy, and full on racing.
- Custom designed Windows shell that makes navigation between the used applications easier.
- Custom shell will provide ability to run WinAmp, MegaTune (EFI software), DVD Software
